The Centro Storico of Perugia was practically bursting at the seams on Saturday night, it being the first saturday of the annual jazz festival, and a balmy evening everyone was out to hear the music.
Featured artists for this year’s ten day festival include concerts by Simply Red, Steeley Dan, Burt Bacharach, BB King, James Taylor and Winton Marsalis, an international line-up as always.
We were just out for a wander and a bite to eat, the latter proving difficult without a reservation, luckily we were in the know. The two stages in the centre providing a diversity of music, at one end we thoroughly enjoyed Chip Wilson and then the Alan Harris Quintet, whilst in Piazza IV Novembre we were gobsmacked by the aptly named ‘Funk Off’ a cringingly dreadful act.
The crowd was mixed , all ages, and many nationalities, including several Adonis like beauties, one just had to rub shoulder to shoulder with….
