Yurt holidays

Planning approval is now well underway for our proposed Yurts to be set on the south facing hillside above Bellaugello.  This will be the first Yurt holidays available in Umbria, central Italy.

Each Yurt will be set in a lightly wooded setting, and simply but elegantly furnished with a comfortable double bed, dining table and chairs, clothes storage and electric lighting.  Outside a barbecue and seating area, and individual shower-room with flush toilet and basin.  Water will be heated by solar panels,  Bed linen and towels are provided.

Our intention is that the Yurts offer a simple self-catering holiday, however guests will be welcome to use the comunal facilities at Bellaugello gay guest house, including the infinity swimming pool, gardens, and of course join us round the large table for dinner.

The Yurts – an update

We have found a small family company to build our Yurts we are real excited.  We have chosen 5 metre diameter yurts, giving good space for a comfortable double bed, table and chairs, and storage space for clothes.  The Yurts will be sited on the hillside behind Bellaugello.

Each Yurt will have its own simple shower and WC.  We had really hoped to be able to use modern bio-ecological dry toilets, however we have been unable to obtain permission.  Unfortunately such ecological products are not recognised here in Gubbio, so we will be putting in conventional flush toilets.  We are still hoping to be able to construct the shower-rooms which will stand adjacent to each Yurt out of wood, but now understand two of the authorities that have to approve the application have different views on whether we can use wood or have to build in brick….   When a final decision is made I will post happily or not!!

Water will be heated as planned by solar energy, that at least is allowed.

We are taking bookings for the Yurts from 4th. June until 25th. September, charged at €80.00 per night on a self-catering basis.  Guests in the Yurts are welcome to use the communal facilities such as the infinity pool and gardens, and of course join the house guests round our large table for dinners.
