It has been a lovely sunny day here in Umbria, blue skies punctuated by fluffy clouds, the fields are an intense green and all the trees now in leaf, flowers are bursting forth and everything is growing.
I decided to get the strimmer out and cut the grass banks in the garden here at Bellaugello Gay Guest House. All set, helmet, goggles and visor, but the strimmer lacked petrol so back to the shed to get the petrol can and fill up.
I am normally so careful…. I filled up , then replaced the cap on the petrol tin and took it back to its place in the shed, then picked up the stimmer, hoisted it onto my shoulder and covered my leg and foot in petrol….. I had forgotten to put the cap back on the strimmer, what a fool.
Fortunately no real harm done, quick change of socks and jeans and then a big bash at the long grass, most satisfying and an excuse for a long soap under a hot shower.
